My Story
Hi, I'm Olga Geissler
As a nurse with over a decade of experience in critical care, I’ve witnessed firsthand the unbelievable suffering from alcohol use. However, like most people in our society, I used alcohol in moderation. Even in nursing school, we were taught that using alcohol in moderation was a healthy choice.
During the pandemic, my drinking escalated. I turned to wine to quiet my overactive, constantly worrying mind. Reusable N95 masks and face shields transformed the job that I loved into a scary place full of uncertainty and fear.
In the evenings, I would turn to wine and food to stop my racing thoughts. It provided temporary relief, but the price was high. I was gaining weight and feeling like an imposter was living in my body. I would wake up in the middle of the night with an overwhelming anxiety. I gained 40+ pounds, and I couldn't fit any of my clothes. I had convinced myself that wine was my stress relief, but over time, I realized that I was lying to myself. Drinking wine was draining my energy and turning me into someone I didn't even know.
I remember driving home from the hospital, promising myself I wouldn’t drink, only to make a U-turn and head straight to the liquor store. I felt like I was losing my mind. The frustration of being controlled by something so seemingly simple was overwhelming.
I knew that I needed help, but I didn’t know where to go. AA and addiction centers didn’t feel right. I didn’t drink that much and was successful in my career. I knew that I had created a habit by turning to wine on regular basis. I believed that I could change this habit, but I didn't know how to do it yet. I decided to learn how to transform my life and find freedom from alcohol.
My journey led me to study the science of behavioral change, and I became fascinated by the human brain. I learned that my brain wasn’t broken or defective. The human brain is a supercomputer, but no one gave us the manual or taught us how to use it. I continued to read personal development books, attended seminars, went back to school, and eventually became a certified coach. Through this process, I transformed into the person I was always meant to be and created a life that I love.
Now, I’m passionate about helping women like me create similar transformation. If my story resonates with you, please reach out. Together, we can change your relationship with alcohol and build a life you’re excited to live.
